  • While the Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo Flat Tow Brake System # SM99251 does have the ability to work with vacuum boosted brakes it will still work on other vehicles as well. • Does Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo Flat Tow Brake System Use Vehicle Brake Booster Vacuum to Operate
  • Great question, Bob! The Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo Flat Tow Brake System # SM99251 actually activates the vacuum in your vehicle so the vehicle brakes work more naturally - it doesn't rely on the vehicle's vacuum system to operate. If your vehicle happens to not utilize vacuum braking then there are provisions for this on page 16 of the installation instructions.

  • Wiring Harness For Use With Brake Buddy 3 Braking System
  • You'll need a 12 volt charge, so the Hopkins wiring harness isn't something you want to use with the Brake Buddy Select 3 Portable Flat Tow Brake System # HM39524. The Hopkins is for lights only and doesn't have a connection for the charge line so you'd need one that does, the Roadmaster # RM-15267.

  • How Does Prodigy P2 Brake Controller Install on 2022 Ford F-53 Motorhome Chassis
  • Hey Jim, so there is a brake controller plug in harness on your 2022 Ford F-53 motorhome that you can use to install the P2 part # 90885 that you have but we don't have a plug-in style adapter for it. So what you'll have to do is cut off the harness on the motorhome as well as the connector on the brake controller harness and hardwire the two together.

  • Recommended Supplemental Braking System for a 2009 Honda Civic
  • I have the installation instructions on how to get the Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo item # SM99251 set up but nothing specific on how to install it in a 2009 Honda Civic. What I can help you with is that the operating unit measures 8" long x 6-1/4" x 2-1/2" tall. We do have this braking system confirmed to fit your Civic so hopefully you can find the necessary room. Another option is to install a portable system like the Blue Ox Patriot item # BLU37TR. This is one of our most popular and reliable...

  • Wiring A Brake Light Relay Kit In A 2020 Ford F-150 XLT
  • Hey Dan, The ground for the Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-88400 typically gets tied into the ground for the braking system to intertwine them so that they're active at the same time. When used to prevent turn signals from overriding the brake signal the relay is essentially just a switch that requires the running light signal from the motorhome in order for it to turn on so that it doesn't interfere with the vehicle's signals when not being towed. We find wiring...

  • Can The Curt True Course Trailer Sway Control Be Used On a Trailer Behind a 5TH Wheel?
  • Yes, you can use the Curt True Course Advanced Bluetooth Trailer Sway Control # C94VV on a trailer being towed behind a 5th wheel. You will want to also use a Curt Echo # C51180 brake controller with this to control the trailers brakes when stopping. The only reason the systems wouldn't work is if they are not getting a sufficient power supply from the tow vehicle which may require you to run a dedicated power wire through the 5th wheel for the rear trailers 7-way connection.

  • Brake Controller Not Connected to 2008 Chevy Silverado 2500
  • Hi Shane, Thanks so very much for your purchase from etrailer of the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195. We appreciate your business and the issue with it not being connected could be due to how a brake controller installs on certain year Silverado's, including 2008. What you need to do is activate the brake controller and 12 volt power post connections under your hood. It's somewhat lengthy so I have added a link below to a help article which details how to do this.

  • Troubleshooting Roadmaster Battery Disconnect Not Working After Transmission Work
  • AAMCO most likely disconnected it when they did work on your vehicle since most vehicles require disconnected the battery before doing so so my guess would be that they forgot to reconnect it at the battery upon completion of the work so you should check there. Also make sure the wiring connections at the battery are made tightly.

  • Easiest Weight Distribution Hitch w/ 2-1/2" Shank to Connect/Disconnect Towing Grand Design Trailer
  • Hi there Ryan; thanks for the question and the easiest weight distribution hitch to connect and disconnect after initial set up is the B&W Continuum, with the right one for your 2-1/2" hitch being the following: - B&W Continuum Weight Distribution System w/ Sway Control for 2.5" Hitch # BW28FR Reason for that is you don't have to go through the process of pulling a bunch of pins at different spots at the head, arms, and brackets. You will have to pull up a latch release lever at the head...

  • Troubleshooting Lights Not Working on 2018 Jeep Wrangler After Diode Installation
  • Based on the fact you're adding the InvisiBrake # RM-8700, I believe you have one of the Curt tow bar wiring harnesses and you aren't actually referring to a trailer wiring harness or trailer lights. More than likely the problem is the diode installation. Double check the diodes and make sure the connections are correct. This is the only thing I know of that would cause the lights to stop working. It wouldn't hurt to double check the rest of the installation just to be sure.

  • Will Battery Disconnect Work With 2004 GMC Canyon Instead of Pulling Fuses
  • The steering wheel shouldn't be locked when flat towing since the wheels need to be able to turn. I'm assuming since the manual says to turn the ignition to lock that it won't be a problem and still allows them to turn. It is always important to follow the owner's manual when flat towing. If you really want to be sure I would talk to your local dealer about it first. Pulling the fuses helps you avoid a dead battery since it drains the battery while towing. I suppose you could install...

  • Recommended Sway Control System For An Aluminum Frame Trailer
  • Hi Jim, Since you can't use a weight distribution hitch and don't want to drill through the aluminum frame I recommend attaching the Curt True Course Advanced Bluetooth Trailer Sway Control # C94VV to a board and using some U-bolts to clamp the board to the frame. Once mounted you'll just need to plug your trailer's 7-way cable into it and use the True Course 7-way cable to plug into your Range Rover. You will not be able to use any sort of friction sway control without drilling into...
